Photographing Knxwledge (Anderson .paak x Nxworries) at Rifflandia 2025
As a wedding photographer, I’ve always been drawn to capturing moments of joy, energy, and connection, but lately my camera has been leading me somewhere new. Music has been a huge part of my life, and festivals have always felt like home to me, the colors, the movement, the way people lose themselves in the rhythm. Stepping into concert photography feels like a natural extension of my love for storytelling, just with a different kind of stage.
One of my first experiences in this new world was photographing Knxwledge of Anderson .Paak x Nxworries at Rifflandia 2025, and it was the perfect reminder of why I’m so inspired to dive deeper into live music photography. Fingers crossed that I can get a media pass next time and get the closer shots I really wanted! But here are some from the front row!
I have always been a big fan of Anderson .paak so I was obviously stoked to photograph his show at Rifflandia. He had the whole crowd bumping and swaying “to the left, to the left, to the right…” In between trying to bust a move with my 10lb camera strapped to my next, I got some great shots to build my music portfolio.
Behind the costume changes, sparkly shoes and fuzzy hats are some hard hitting lyrics about his life and growing up. That’s why my favourite image is this one.
You don’t see a celebrity, you see a human reacting to the crowds approval of his art in such a genuine way.
This was my 4th time photographing a music festival on a strictly volunteer basis but I am looking forward to expanding my skills and hopefully working with more artists one day.
